Pixel Stream is a Photoshop action that will transform your
image producing multiple organized layers with smart filters, blend options and layer masks in
order to provide rich customization possibilities.
--------------------------------------------
Setting up the image for the action:
--------------------------------------------
1. Open an image into Photoshop. Make sure the image is in RGB mode, 8bits (Go to Image menu - Mode to check). Also, make sure your image is large enough (around 3500px in height). Your image will have a Background layer (Visible in the Layers panel).

2. Create a new empty layer and call it Brush (with capital B). On this empty Brush layer use a default Ps round brush to brush over your subject, thus marking it. In this way, the action uses the information from the layer Brush to determine which is the subject of interest in the Background image.

3. Run the action by selecting a Pixel Stream Action (with a given direction) from the Actions panel and clicking Play.

When the action is completed, multiple layers have been created.

Customization:
-------------------
Customization relies mostly on using masks. Masks allow hiding/showing certain parts of the effects by simply brushing a black/white color on the masks.

Revealing a part of the subject (to reveal body with scattered pixels or to reveal it totally unaltered): When complete, the action selects the mask of the group named Brush Mask to Reveal Subject. It has a black mask. Brush with a white color and the provided brush (selected by
default by the action - you don't have to pick your own brush) to reveal an original part of the subject. Scattered pixels forming your subject will be thus visible and depending on your image, these could be more or less. This is why inside this group, there will be other groups with masks that you can brush -
Subject Look 2 - brushing this mask will reveal more scattered pixels; Brush Mask to Reveal Unaltered Subject - will reveal the unaltered subject (useful for face) - but remember these will be visible when brush if the main group mask Brush Mask to Reveal Subject - is also brushed.

You will notice there are lots of white/black masks - you can play with them, brushing, hiding or showing part of the areas and effects you want. Brush Mask for Partial Color Change will reveal an area of different color saturation and lightness in the shape of the mask (could be brushed by a large round brush). You can control that area by modifying the Hue/Saturation layer inside.

The action provides color fill layers that you can use to easily adjust color for elements.

There are two light layers. You may erase the content of these layers and place as many light effects as you want, where you want them by selecting Pixel Stream - Light 1 or Light 2 brushes from the Brush panel.

There is also an action containing the 12 color presets. You can use it independently, for your photos! After the Pixel Stream action is complete, run the Generate color presets. Enable the desired color preset group.
